Speechify reads text aloud with natural-sounding AI voices, in its apps, web app and browser extension. Speechify has a status page for people to read but no data feed we can use, so this page relies on our own checks of speechify.com and the web app every minute, plus visitor reports.
Official status
Speechify has a status page for people to read, but no data feed we can read automatically, so this verdict is based on our own checks and visitor reports. Open Speechify's status page.
Our checks
Every minute we contact Speechify's public addresses from Cloudflare's network. Bot protection and missing API keys often cause 401, 403 or 404 replies; those still show the service is reachable.

Not working for you? Try this
- App, web app or extension? If Speechify works in one place but not another (the phone app, the web app or the browser extension), the problem is with that version. Update it or sign out and back in.
- A voice won't playIf one voice fails while others work, switch voices for now. Premium voices need an active subscription, so check your plan if they suddenly stop.
- A document won't load or readScanned or protected files can't always be read. Try a different copy of the file, or paste the text in directly.
- Extension not reading web pagesSome sites block extensions from reading their content. If the extension works on other sites, it's that page, not Speechify.
- Check the official page and visitor reportsSpeechify's own status page is linked above. If it shows problems or many visitors report them here, it's a wider outage.

Questions about Speechify outages
Does Speechify have a status page?
Yes, at status.speechify.com, but it doesn't offer a data feed we can read automatically. We link to it and base our verdict on our own checks and visitor reports.
Speechify works on my phone but not in Chrome. Why?
The extension can break after browser or extension updates. Update it, sign in again, and try another website to check.
How do you decide Speechify is down?
Speechify's status page has no feed we can read, so “Likely down” needs both our checks of speechify.com failing and a spike in visitor reports. Reports on their own only give “Some users report problems”.
