Is Codex down if ChatGPT is working?
It can be. OpenAI lists Codex in its own group on the status page, separate from ChatGPT, and either can have problems on its own.
Why does the Codex CLI say I've hit a limit?
If you signed in with ChatGPT, Codex uses your plan's limits; with an API key, your API billing and rate limits apply. Neither means Codex is down.
