Fixes, in the order OpenAI suggests
- Click RegenerateIt may be a one-time error.
- Restart your browser or deviceThis clears a stuck session.
- Turn off VPNs and proxiesThey can interfere with the connection to ChatGPT.
- Turn off Web Protect or other security filtersSome security tools block parts of the response.
- Try another browser or a private windowThis rules out extensions and old site data.
- Try another network or deviceIf it works elsewhere, the problem is local to your setup.
If the reply hangs
OpenAI suggests waiting 30–60 seconds to see if the response finishes. If it doesn't, click “Stop generating” and then “Regenerate”. If the conversation is very long, start a new chat.
